I would like help!
I'm trying to sell my 4th Generation iPod to get a new 5th. I would put the iPod for sale right away, but the problem is that it is engraved with my full name. The player works great, a few scuffs, but is in overall great condition. I'm concerned that the person I would sell it to might look up my information because my name's on it. What should I do? Does Apple buy back used and engraved iPods?
Can someone please help?

Take it somewhere that does engraving (like a jeweler or something) and either have them scratch out your name or do a design over the current engraving.

I think Apple will do the trade on any used iPod, functioning or not. But its only for 10% off, so you'd be better off selling it yourself.

I can imagine you not wanting your name on it, but remember, if you use something like eBay to sell it, the buyer will get your name already.

Too many Apple/Mac products to even bother listing!

Buy a busted one on ebay and swap the rear covers.

Otherwise, don't be so paranoid.

I just sold my iPod mini that had my full name engraved on the back of it to my friend today. He didn't really care. He shouldn't. The mini was in immaculate condition.

I'm trying to think of a way to keep my future iPod nano in the same mentioned condition...
iMac 17"/1.8 GHz/1.5 GB RAM/160 GB HD/SD/BT/AP/10.4.1 Tiger
iPod nano White/4 GB

No one really cares if your name is on the back. They`ll probably get a case for it anyways and they`ll never see the back.
