is there a way to encode a single file instead of DVD's only?

I have a lot of mpg, avi files i would like to encode for the ipod, but handbrake only does DVD's...

the weird thing is i tried using quicktime pro 7.0.3 and used the export to ipod video option for one of my avi's and upon synching with itunes, it wouldnt allow me to synch the file to my ipod?

weird, and i'm using the export to ipod feature built into QT7.0.3pro too...

any other apps that will allow me to encode single video files straight to my ipod?

Handbrake only does dvds and video ts folders to chuck on ur iPod, if u need to convert existing files use iSquint

Its a tiny little app that converts almost any movie file, to an ipod compatible file (mp4).

Yes Handbrake can encode videos for the iPod. I use it all the time. I use Mactheripper then I use handbrake to encode it. Make sure when when you are setting it up that you choose the baseline encoding or it won't work. I forgot to a couple of times in the begining and after 30 mins of encoding and then trying to put it on the iPod I ended up doing it again.
