I'm looking at buying a 5G video ipod. I never had one before.
I don't want to be restricted to charging it off a computer, however, particularly if I travel and don't wish to bring my computer with me.

I'm looking for recommendations on charging adapters, and whether anyone thinks it is worthwhile to get a charging dock that also permits connection to one's stereo system, etc.

Apple's own USB charging plug costs a pretty hefty $30.
Are there better or less expensive ones?

Alternatively, there are some neat dock devices that cost not much more, like this $80 item from Kensington, that includes a remote control and in-line connection to a stereo system:

What have people found most useful?

I am waiting for the DLO HomeDock. It's a bit pricer but it allows me to dock the iPod without removing the case. It also has the A/V out connections and the dock connector to USB connection as well.

I dislike having to remove the iPod out of the protective case just to dock it. The DLO HomeDock says the dock connector is raised above the platform to allow almost any case to stay on the iPod and still dock it. It also has a remote control. Unfortunately it is infrared which means line-of-sight instead of the old AirClick remote that I love which uses radio frequencies.
