Hi,

First post and first question.

I can't find the information on the new universal dock that would answer my question.

If you buy/have an iPODPhoto, can you still sync over firewire with the universal dock (since 5th generation ipodvideo is not syncing over fw?)

I would quickly go out and buy a 'cheap' ipodphoto because i don't have and will not have a usb2-mac for another year or so.

Thanks alot.

As long as it fits it should work, but you would obviously have to have a firewire cable connected to the dock.

yes but that's the problem, i can't find out if the universal dock has a firewireconnector. Apple's page says : "Connect the Dock to your computer with the cable that came with your iPod, then place your iPod in the Dock to sync and charge the battery." which suggests that if you have ipod 5g then it will be the usb (usb2,0 then) if it is an ipodphoto it will be fw or usb ? (ipodphoto comes with usb-cable i suppose?)

+ if it's a FW-connector it would have to be a 6pin if charging is involved??

Thanks

Just connect the iPod firewire cable to the dock. It's got a normal dock connector, so it should work.

Thanks iCruise,

I sure hope you're right about this.

If only they would be on the market already, someone would already have tested them right?

Tnx
