In my itunes library I have 4954 items, 764 artists. But on my Ipod I have 4952 items and 763 artists.

I generally sync manually and have drug on to the pod all the songs and movies with still the same results.

So I wiped the pod and let it update automatically with still the same results.
Obviously there's a couple files that the pod doesn't like.

Question, is there an easy way to figure out what the files are? Is there a program that will compare libraries?

Thanks in advance!

A few possibilities:

Do you have your iPod set to ignore unchecked songs?
Is everything in your library music that is playable on the iPod? You might have a video or a PDF or something that will show up in iTunes but can't be moved to the iPod.

In general, though, I wouldn't obsess about 2 missing songs. It's like that number on your phone bill that you know you didn't call, but then you call it and you remember that you did in fact call it, and now you've called it twice. You'll probably find that the "missing" songs are things that you couldn't put on the iPod anyway, or things that you wouldn't want there.

That's my quandry I guess. It's entirely possible that there's something in the library that's not playable on the pod. My dillema albeit a minor one is figuring out what those elusive files are without scrolling through and comparing each track manually.

Not obsessing, but I would like to figure it out one day.

Thanks again.
