Hi

My brother dropped his 4th gen 20gb from about 3 feet (obviously by accident) and even when it is connected to a computer or charger it wont' even turn on. No drive sound, won't sync with the computer, wont even show anything on the screen!

This is the first time he has dropped it and I can't seem to find any scratches (like big ones), cracks, dents nothing.

Is the pod entirely dead, or is it just a connection problem or something?

Someone please help!!

thanks

Possibly a connection problem, but most likely if it fell hard enough to damage a connector the hard disc is toast.

I dropped my 3g 10gig about 3 feet onto a hardwood floor and it barely skipped, my friend dropped his 4g 20gig less than a foot onto a curb the day after he bought it and the screen was thrashed. Guess I was lucky

Before you throw it away, one night attach charger and leave it on its back, next night keep charger plugged in but put the ipod on it's back, then other two nights on different sides always with charger plugged in. Almost gave up my 1st gen ipod and it came back. Good luck.
