I have an 40gb ipod photo that I am using with a windows operating system. The problem that I am having is that when I sychronize my ipod with a particular folder on my desktop the photos are not transferred to my ipod in the chronological order. So, when I perform a slideshow the pictures are out of my desired order. How do I fix this problem?

Do the photos have EXIF data embedded in them? Modern digital cameras include information like the date the photo was taken in the picture file, but if they were not taken by a digital camera (or were taken by an old camera) they might not have this info.

Thanks for replying. Not sure if the photos have EXIF data; however, the camera is only about three years old (Kodak Easy Share Digital Camera).

Are only some photos out of order, or all of them? What order do they appear to be in? Random?

Just in random order and I have made sure that I turned the random function off on my ipod. I thought it would be as simple as checking a toggle button in itunes or on my ipod instructing the system to sort by date, title, etc. Apparently not? I have called Mac Tech Support but that got me nowhere.

Well, I've never used the photo feature with Windows, so I can't really say for sure, but I'm pretty sure that the photos should show up in chronological order by default. So I'm wondering if there isn't something odd about your photo files. For example, if they were edited in a graphics program, they might have lost their EXIF data. But I'm just guessing. You might want to look on ilounge.com's forums, since this is mostly a Mac forum.
