The iPod says:

To view text files here, enable iPod for disk use, then drag text files to the Notes folder on iPod.
However, when I view them on the iPod, they are headed by about two or three iPod screen-lengths of "gibberish" (I know it probably means something) :

{\rtf\mac\ansicpg10000\cocoartf824\cocoasu.... etc

Why?

I'm using TextEdit/rich text format. Is that what they mean by "text files". If not, what do they mean?

Thanks.

It's the RTF format that is giving you headaches. The files must be plain .txt files.

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.
