Hello. My ipod is currently stuck on the screen that says "Do not disconnect" with the circle with the cross throught it above it. It is an ipod 4g mini.
Before, it was connected to the computer and the power went out. Then later I moved it to my other computer to charge it. Then I moved it back to the other computer to put some new songs on it. While in the process I realized iTunes wouldn't recognize the iPod and that it was stuck on that screen.
I never properly eject the ipod from the computer. Could that be the reason? Or maybe the power outage?
Whatever it is I appreciate your help.
Thanks
-Phil

When it says "Do Not Disconnect" you don't want to eject it in an inproper way. That could easily ruin data on your iPod, leading to errors on it, leading to an eventual problem in the future.

If it's stuck on that screen even when you try to eject it the proper way, or it's not being recognized by iTunes or your computer, try shutting down your computer. I don't know if you're using a Windows computer or not, but I've never had this problem on my Mac; I did back in the day when I used a Windows machine, and that seemed to do the trick.

For future refence, ALWAYS eject your iPod properly. You'll save yourself an agonizing headache in the future.

Thank you for this information. I also asked my friend at school today and he said it happened to him alot and to press 'enter' and 'menu' at the same time and that will reset it. But in my servomstance I ended up just letting it run out of batteries and then just plugged it in again to recharge it. And that worked.
Thank You
