The video thing sucks I think. I was listening to a podcast and they say to watch a 2 hr movie it would take you about 24 hrs to encode it. And if you have a SUPER fast PC it'll take you about 12 hrs. So pick your movies wisely.

What kind of movie? I had a Mac Mini, and can encode an entire DVD movie to iPod size in not much time at all. I use Handbrake*, queue up for or 5 movies before i go to work, and they are all done when I get home 9 hours later. So that's less than 2 hours per movie.

I put several movies on before a Thanksgiving trip, watched one on the plane. Even watched a couple on a 36" TV, and had no issues, and thought the quality was remarkable considering the file size (500-700 MB for a 2 hour movie).

*Note: The movies already resided on the hard drive, via MacTheRipper. That doesn't add much time to the process tho, altho they cannot be queued...you need to be there to swap the discs!
Too many Apple/Mac products to even bother listing!

Yeah, it's not *that* time consuming to encode videos. Even if you choose h.264 format, it's only a few hours. If you choose MPEG-4 it's not bad at all.
