sorry maybe my entry above about my iPOD continuously rebooting was a bit abrupt!!! what I meant to say is - "Is there anyone out there who has also had this problem and can anyone please help me to fix it!". I would be extremely grateful for any help!

Have you tried resetting the iPod? Just press and hold the Play and Menu buttons until the Apple logo screen comes up, and it should do fine.

If that doesn't work, you could try reinstalling the latest iPod software. Sometimes they get stuck in a glitch state (sorry for the technical term there!) and reinstalling the software forces the iPod to hard boot from freshly loaded (and thus clean) code.

I had a similar problem two days ago. Holding down the select and menu buttons would bring up the Apple logo but the iPod wouldn't then start up. I could hear the drive constantly trying to reboot like yours, and it would get as far as the Apple logo but no further. Had a quick trawl around on this forum, as it happens, and found the solution: Before trying to reset the iPod, put it in Disk Mode: hold down selet and play buttons until you get a message with a big tick on the screen that says it's in Disk Mode. I had to connect my iPod to an external power source in order to do this. Then, reset it and to be on the safe side did a "restore" with the latest iPod software. Now working like a charm. Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.
