I've been using handbrake to compress movies onto my iPod. I used these settings without problems. However moving the bitrate past a certain number 600 or 700 increases quality but will not let me copy the file to my iPod video.

Does anyone know what the max bitrate is or how I can find out? I'm trying to get the best possible quality (for dark scenes). And the resolution was lowered to 320 x 176.

For H.264 max bitrate is 768kbps. Mpeg-4 is 2.5mbps.
