I have a 3rd generation iPod (touch buttons and scroll wheel). My ibook HD died recently (the comp is on sale in the forum marketplace) and I will be using a dell laptop for now.

I was wondering is my iPod would work on windows since it's kinda old. Is there some sort of formatting to do or something.

Yes, it will work. You'll have to reformat it to be Windows compatible.
