i'm trying to do some research for a pc owning /ipod mini owning relative (he's regretting not heeding my advice to get an ibook instead of a dell laptop these days).
he has lost his hard drive, and dell replaced it. however, he lost all his itunes data. i *thought* you could restore back from the ipod to the win machine and he could just re-authorize the music, etc.
apple support told him "no", which i think is a shame, unless it was stored on teh ipod as data not music.
are there any haxies out there that might make this possible? i hate to have to tell him he's lost all his music on his pc for good.
