Hi, I could use some advice about moving my music library between computers. Unfortunately, I believe I've already made an error by not deauthorizing my library. Here's the situation:

I needed to move my library (and all of my data files) off of a PowerBook to return the computer to my company. I've moved the data I have to an older desktop G4. I haven't however, moved the music yet. The older G4's hard drive is space limited, but now that I have critical data on it, I know there's enough space to move my music library.

The music is stored in 2 places: a) the iPod, and b) on a DVD in a file created using Apple's back-up program. If this were a Palm, I'd simply sync the Palm to the desktop, and all of my data would seamlessly flow into my desktop calendar, for example. I don't believe that's possible with an iPod, however? (Can anyone explain why?)

So, I think I have 2 problems: I need to move my music library to my desktop (from either a DVD or an iPod), and I need to get back the authorization for purchased music from a Mac I no longer have access to.

Any and all advice would be appreciated!

Senuti - Look it up! It's a backup tool for your iPod, but I think you can come up with more with more creative ways to help you with your problems.
