I just recieved the Video iPod for Christmas, but I'm quite confused.

Can I add video files to my iPod downloaded from other sources? Such as, adding a video that is in the file type mpeg, or avi. Is this possible? If so how? I have a lot of mpeg and avi music videos/movies but when I try to put them on my iPod it tells me its not supported.

Also, how do I add pictures to my iPod?

Thanks!

The iPod will only play video in the formats .mp4 or h.264, and then only to a certain maximum resolution.

Do a search of this forum for iPod video conversion or so to find a dozen threads at least discussing details.

If you want a one-stop idiot-proof conversion tool for almost every format except straight from DVD, don't bother searching and just download iSquint:
