Sure. Using your son's account, go to iTunes and make playlists for yourself. Make as many as you want. Then listen to those playlists on the iPod.

So I go to itunes and click new playlist or new smart playlist?
How do I know it will be my playlist? can I name it? and how does it know to put the songs into this playlist?

Denise,

You've got it. Just click new playlist or new smart playlist. Either one will work. The difference is that you manually drag and drop songs into a regular playlist. With a smart playlist you create criteria that iTunes uses to automatically put songs into the playlist. Once created you can rename any playlist by just clicking on the playlist in the left column and typing a new name.
