Just got a nano for christmas, and as there were no user manuals (just a leaflet) I'm not able to figure out how I can put my songs in my own order, it seems to put them into an alphabetical or genre order & I want cant change that??
Any ideas??
Thank you in anticipation

you have all your music in itunes, you connect your ipod, and it syncs your music to your ipod.
if you go on your ipod now you will see some menus.
music
photos
extras
settings
shuffle songs
if you choose music you will then see some more menus.
playlists
artists
albums
etc etc
choose artists and then all your music from itunes will be there sorted alphabetically by artist. choose albums and all your music from itunes will be there sorted alphabetically by album.
if you choose artist and then the "all" option you will see every album and then if you choose the "all" option again you will see ever song on your ipod sorted by artist then album then song.
am i making sense?

yes haha your making perfect sense, just wondering though, because I like to put my songs into my own order, not necessarily by artist or album, but my own random selection, like for example if you were making your own CD, swapping the songs around depending on when you want to hear them.
(thank you for such a prompt reply!)

Connect the iPod to your Mac, open iTunes, create a playlist for the iPod with whatever songs you need, and make sure the shuffle button is not checked on the playlist (or the shuffle function is not enabled on the iPod).
