Just new to the IPod experience.
Cant get I tunes to run on our pre OSX G3 Imac.
Does a pre OSX version exist?

What model iMac is it. OS X runs fine on all but the very oldest iMacs.

iTunes debuted on OS 9, so there are versions that will work on it. I believe version 2.x is the last version that had OS 9 support. Since Apple hasn't released iTunes for OS 9 for quite a while, there is no iTunes music store for OS 9, and I don't think the newest iPods will work with it either.

I think Apple stopped offering a classic MacOS version of iTunes after iTunes 2. At this point, if you can afford to spend money on an iPod, you can probably also buy a $499 Mac mini to replace the beige G3.
