I need someone help on this issue I have and sorry for the long post.

3 computers running WinXP/sp2 professional. 2 dells and 1 laptop

got a 4 Gig BLK Nano yesterday and everything is working.
mp3 music files is on a network share of a file server share.

Contents total 14 gigs of mp3 and growing all the time. I have 2 teenagers downloading music constantly.

I wanted all the mp3 our family have in one location. Not on each once laptop or computer

My issues are as follows

when installing the itunes/quick time software + update, the itunes directory where the mp3 files are located always wants to install and point to the local > My documents/My Music folder of the local machine.

I go to the advance tab of the itune software and try to change it on the directory where I want to point the mp3 files I have on a network share. But it does not see it. It always revert back to the local directory > My documents/My Music folder on 2 computers I have

Note: What got me frustrated is that I does work on my wife profile on the desktop, but not on my profile on the same computer. The other kids computer, can not get it to work at all.

There is no open tab or look in to bar in itunes I can open up and repoint to grab the files of the network share directory.

Some one here in this forum suggested to open up there current mp3 file directory and drag the files over to the itunes window. I have not try it yet but that solution seem cumbersome and I believe it copies all the files locally to that computer.

Which by the way defeat the purpose of a local centralized share.

Hopefully I have explained the issue and someone can assist. if not, please reply and any suggestion is mucho appreciated.
