For a while now, I have been looking for a speaker system that I can dock my iPod into at my bedside, and play music from my iPod when I wake in the morning.
I did not consider a straight forward speaker system alone because I want to have a sleep button on the unit to give me a few extra minutes of sleep, when I can get it. I need to have a sleep button that can be operated with both eyes shut, and in a half asleep state. Towards the end of last year, a clock radio was released that seemed to have what I wanted, except:
1.) It is only available in the US
2.) Have you seen it? Was this thing designed by committee, that were not allowed to communicate until the launch date. Anyone ever see the simpsons episode where homer designs a car for his brothers company. This is the alarm clock he would have designed instead of the car

(Okay, this is maybe going a bit far on the design, sorry iHome )

I think I might have found the answer - JBL On Time. Looks like it has good potential with the sleep button, (or ring) mounted on top, and it has a more coherent design, but does look a bit far out. The JBL on stage with integrated clock and large sleep button would have been enough. What do you think?
