I noticed something the other day about my ipod, as i was updating it with all of my songs and viedos I realized on the bottom quarter of the screen there was this rainbowy color shade type area. Like the colors when you press on a calculator screen, or how that oil looks when it drips down from a car in the sun, like sort of rainbowy and shiny.Anyway ther is any area on my ipod that looks like that. but only when the backlight is off. Is this type of thing covered in the warranty ? I asked sum 1 about it and they said pressure to the screen may cause this. Anyway I was thinking about swapping it for a new one if i can.. And when I do, do i take it back to the store or ship it to apple for reapir ?

Any feedbackk or advice would be great.

My 60GB video is like that too when the backlight's off. Doesn't bother me overly - I can only see it at certain angles.

Same here. If I look at it from a certain angle only. I doubt very much that this would warrant a new iPod though.

My 3G 20GB had the same thing. I didn't figure it was worth doing anything about since it didn't cause any problems.

Yeah noticed that a while back. Got my 5G 30GB for christmas. I mean as long as there is no problems when the screen is on...it should be fine.

Yeah, I guess thats true, but there is also a very visible gap between the bottom of the click wheel and the ipod itself. Also what is a good scratch remover?
