My 5G 60gb ipod has some issues. Or atleast I think, these things may be normal. One thers is a visible gap between the bottom of the click wheel and the ipod itself, its like 1mm wide (maybe) is there anyway to fix it ? Two, when I plug it up to my comp instead of blinking right to the do not disconnect screen it has a black screen witha silver apple logo on it, then it goes to that screen.(i guess that could be it just warming up). And if the lighting conditions are right, and if the backlight is off, on the bottom of the screen i can see a rainbow colored region, but it is actually pretty hard to see it. Are any of these serious ? Should I swap it for a new one ? Are any of things major ? Any info would be great.

Thanks,

Malcolm

the gap sounds like the only real issue here, the short lag between plugging it in and it saying "do not disconnect" is normal. you said yourself it's hard to see the rainbow colored area so I wouldn't worry about that because it's unlikely to cause any change in performance. my 2 yr old ipod has the same rainbow effect and it's never caused any problems for me. my verdict is keep it, as long as your clickwheel functions as it's supposed to, you've got a great little product.
green links don't belong to me!
