When I let my battery go full dead, charge to top is correct at about 4 hours. When I have a partial discharge and put on charge, it takes anywhere from 7 to 24 hours to go to full charge. Ipod is a refurbished g3 unit under warrenty. Ipod says to return, but if they find nothing wrong, I am affraid they will charge me up the wazoo. Is what it's doing sound right, or should I go ahead and return to them?

Sometimes the battery indicator can be wrong. Try charging it the recommended 4 hours and let it play until it runs out. I have a 3G iPod and the battery indicator is wrong a lot but, the battery still lasts a long time.
