Greetings,

My iPod Mini has been baffling me lately -- at the expense of its own battery! If I leave the player on "Pause" because I won't be listening to it for a while, after several hours it will begin playing again. I don't know the exact time. I only know that I'll come back to the iPod the next day and find it hours away from the song where I left it, happily playing away, happily draining its battery down to nothing. This even happens if I flip the "Lock" tab over.

Any ideas why or how to fix it?

Look carefully at the scroll wheel. Is any part of it pushed in too far?

also check that the alarm clock isn't set, even if you don't think it would be.

aside from that, plug it into your wall charger and reset it 3-4 times (menu+select) and see if that helps. my friend's mini was doing this the other day and after a few resets and a full charge (from the wall charger, not through usb/fw) it's good as new. good luck
green links don't belong to me!

The culprit was the Alarm Clock! One of those simple yet clueless solutions…

Thanks for the help.
