so my shuffle was working just fine the night before, but now all of a sudden the sucker stopped working right. heres a catalog of the last few nights:

night 1 - working fine.

night 2 - i thought it was charging but it didnt (i suspect this is the night it went screwy but i didnt notice as i usually go to sleep while charging it)

night 3 - battery wore out and it stopped playing, when plugged into my machine, it would not charge. it did not show up on my desktop as a drive either.

night 4 - i got it to charge, but it never showed on my desktop (so its not getting recognized by either of my machines), and while it was charging the light kept blinking as if i was in disk mode on a PC.

night 5 - its charged, but when plugged into my comp, it wont show up on desktop or itunes. wont charge either. plays music just fine.

present - its not charging, but if it does..im sure it'll just blink but wont show up on my desktop.

im well out the warranty time, and im not gonna spend $ repairing a shuffle. ive tried the lame reset procedures listed on apples site which led to no avail. basically my shuffle has a mind of its own and decides to charge sometimes and decides not to charge on other occasions, and when i get it to charge...the light blinks on both the front and back in amber which i know is sign of using the shuffle in disk mode on a pc. anybody got any ideas?
