Little surprise that no stores still have leftover stock of gold minis:

There never was a 6GB iPod mini in gold - the color was dropped in the second-revision models over a year ago.

I like that solution. That's how I'm going to get gold spats on my groomsmen's shoes...

My son has one that's about 2 years old. It has a few scratches but is still in good shape, although it's clearly not new.

LOL!! I like f1000's idea personally.

On www.apple.com at the store they used to sell the iPod Mini's from cheap right after the Nano came out. They had like silver, GOLD, blue, and pink. I remember I was disappointed because I wanted a green one. I'm not sure if they still do that or not but in the search box search "iPod Mini" and search for something in the results that isn't a case or whatever for it. If you come out empty handed: I am sorry, but I guess you're too late with that one.

I'm quite certain that they did NOT have any gold ones when the nano came out.

The golden iPod mini had not been available since the second-revision iPod mini was released in January 2005.

The Mini was introduced at MacWorld 2004. It came in Silver, Gold, Blue, Pink, and Green. Gold was dropped when the Mini was updated.

BeyondtheMacintosh and I successfully traded our iPods (my gold for his blue). The transaction went very smoothly. He's a great guy.
