Okay, I've got the new Video iPod and the Power Mac OS X G5, good stuff. But last weekend, my mac 'crashed' and the whole Darwin crap came up and I was trying to fix that all week and I did and I kept everything that was on my computer. But now I am faced with a problem that I haven't had before or can't seem to get past.
I plug my iPod into my computer because I want to update it. I use the USB cord and my iPod charges, 'do not disconect' comes up on it's screen and the icon apears on my desktop But iTunes dose not open, my iPod won't show up in iTunes, it won't update at all so I research a bit. I got the iPod updater and no new updates are there. I restarted the computer. I pluged the USB into another USB port (in the back of the computer). I put the iPod+iTunes disk in and intralled all the softwear again. None of it works.
It dosen't seem to a prblem with the iPod though because it's doing it's part fine, it's just no sign of an iPod is in iTunes, I went to preferences in iTunes and went to iPod and it says 'no iPod conected.' Besides this, iTunes works very good and normal.
Can anyone help me with this cause I'm stumped and I need to get it waorked out!

Not sure if this helps, but there is a tech note about resetting your ipod... I had a similar problem, my machine crashed, and the ipod was basically ruined by it... doesnt look like that in your case however.

Maybe not because my iPod still has everything on it that I put on before my computer melted.

I'm having a similar problem. I have a season of family guy, a season of futurama and a few movies on my ipod that for some reason, I no longer can watch them on my ipod. When I plug my ipod in, and look at what is on my ipod from itunes, it shows all the shows and movies. I dont understand why I cant watch it on my ipod anymore and its quite frustrating as I'm leaving in less than a week to california.
My computer crashed not too long ago as well, i doubt its related, but maybe?

Lauras-Computer -- I'm sorry that I don't really have any input on your problem, but please use an appropriately sized image for your signature.
bdempster44 -- what do you mean you can't watch them? They don't show up on the iPod at all? They don't play?

bdempster44 - I got that problem too but I think that iPods automaticly put the latest movies on and the older ones remaim on your computer so that it saves room(a movie can take up alot of space and you probably will only watch it once). But the music videos stay for good, so I labled some of my videos as 'music video' instead of 'movie'. I think that works but I haven't really gotten to really test it because my iPod won't show up in iTunes!

I'm sorry to be a stickler about this, but that image is still too big, and animated GIFs are not allowed as well. Check out the "General Forum Rules" thread at the top of the forum page, or click here for the guidelines:
