I have a Honda 2005 Pilot and want to get an iPod car kit so I can listen to my iPod through the car stereo. Has anyone had any luck at finding one?

Thanks

For some reason, my cassette player isn't working well. That's why I want to get an iPod kit installed.

We use Griffin's Road Trip and love it! Plugs into the cigarette lighter plug and plays throught he radio. Can also be used to play through your home stereo. We have it going all the time we are in the car!

Good luck!

I think Honda sells an iPod to OEM radio adapter now, (recently began), so I'd look into that.

Fwiw I replaced the whole radio in my Honda with an Alpine head unit and the iPod adapter that lets you control the iPod from the radio, and some new Alpine radios have direct connections for iPods now.. Directly wiring the iPod to the radio is a million times better than FM transmission.

Me, too. I went with Kenwood instead of Alpine, though. (And the car was a subaru.)

The cable to directly connect to the radio can be expensive (the Kenwood retailed for $100, I got it for less than that ) but one benefit is that you can pause the iPod and have limited control over songs and playlists using the CD-changer controls on the new head unit.

Btw, the Alpine setup gave me full control over playback functins and powers the iPod - the Kenwood probably powers the iPod too....

Yes, it does charge the iPod. And the Kenwood people probably say it gives "full control over the iPod", but I beg to differ...
