yet another reason to hate france - just kidding - but if it becomes law i hope apple shuts down the store there - which i'm sure they will.

This is bullshit. The French (as usual) just want their own **** to thrive so they're making it so French companies can steal iTunes and then sell them that way French only buy from French. Which is what they want for everything anyways they hate outside influence.

Then they'll have their own French iTunes store and oust the Apple one.

The French try and do this **** all the time.

This doesn't help anyone, it doesn't change what iPods can play it just makes it possible for other companies(French ones) to have "The person who will have converted iTunes songs will be able to make it available elsewhere."

The asshole didn't say it but he really means: "The person who will have converted iTunes songs will be able to make it available elsewhere FOR SALE."

What bullshit.
