Some interesting things:
1. If you set up a Playlist and throw a bunch of music videos in there. That playlist will show up on your iPod under the "Playlists" section (it'll also show up under the "Video Playlist"). When you are scrolling through your playlists on the Alpine head unit, you can select one of these music video playlists and it will play the music videos as audio.
So I wonder, is the iPod separating the video and audio streams and the headunit only picking up the audio through the dock connector? OR is the Alpine head unit capable of decoding an .m4v file and playing only the audio section?
Here's a rant:
The way Video Playlists are setup:
1. If I have a music video only playlist, it will show up in the regular "playlists" section as well as the "Video Playlist" section and then all of your music videos will show up under "Music Videos"
2. If I have a movie only playlist, it will show up in the "Video Playlist" section but not the regular "playlists" section and all of your movies will show up under "Movies"
3. If I have a TV Show only playlist, it will not show up in "playlists" and there is no "TV Show" section. You need to have a specific TV Show playlist and then it will only show up in the "Video Playlist" section. And if you don't have a specific playlist that contains said "TV Show" it will not show up anywhere on the iPod.
A chart:
What I'd rather see:
1. Keep ALL of my videos/movies/TV shows out of my "Playlists" section.
2. All me to put "Movies", "TV Shows", and "Music Videos" in the Main Menu, right now I can only have "Videos" in the main menu
3. If you can't do that, in the "Videos" section, have "Movies", "TV Shows", and "Music Videos". There's no need to omit TV Shows.
4. Finally, if you can't do that, make all of my playlists show up in the "playlists" section regardless of what's in it.
