I can safely plug my new 5G into the wall jack for an older 3G, correct? I don't see why this should be a problem, but I wasn't entirely sure that there wouldn't be some voltage issue with the older Firewire connection.

ive done it several times and never had a problem. Im not sure about the voltage issue though.
