Hi there-

I want to finally replace the battery for my 3rd gen 15gig iPod. I've had a look on ebay and the going price seems to be around US$18 for a battery with a self install kit. The standard one seems to be:
BATTERY IPOD 3rd GENERATION Li-ion Polymer 850mAh

Has anyone bought these batteries and replaced the battery themselves? How risky is it to do this yourself? Why might these batteries be so cheap? I remember not long ago someone telling me I would be looking at paying US$65 to have the battery replaced.
