I have an iPod Click Wheel, 20GB model. I am running an iBook running Mac OS X 10.3.9

The iPod displays a folder icon with an exclamation point. I have tried to reset, following the steps in the following APPLE document:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983

Thing is, when I get to Step 3, the iPod does NOT become available, so I cannot use the iPod Update restore procedure. Meanwhile, the iPod indicates Disk Drive mode, & "Do not disconnect", and will not switch off or out of Disk Drive mode. After about 1 hour, I do disconnect. All this time, the iPod does not appear in iTunes or in Finder, etc.

What do I do?? Someone, please help!
