I just got a new Nano 4gig, and when I click on options there is no Photo tab at all... thus I can't sync photos. Also, album art does not appear at all.

I checked and the Nano is windows formated; does this have anything to do with it?

(my iTunes is up to date as well...)

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

under the ipod option in the preferences is a check box for album art. make sure it's checked then update your ipod. i've had it not upload the album art when it was checked. if this happens, uncheck the box and update, then check the box and update.

Wow! This really perplexing to me because there is not a Photo tab at all! In other words, I click on Options and there are only the tabs: Music, Podcasts, Contacts, and Calendars.

STRANGE!!!

make sure the ipod it plugged in. when the ipod appears on the left hand side of itunes where library, playlists, etc are listed, right click on it and go to options. there should be a little check box somewhere in there that lists album art.

What kinda advice is that??? Of course I'm sure it's plugged in!

I pretty much solved this problem. I say pretty much, because it is a strange work around. On my older PowerMac G4, plugging in and going to options for the iPod revealed no Photo tab whatsoever.

Plugging into my iBook, however, revealed it completely, along with the album artwork option. So I sync'd my photos from there and checked the album artwork.

This was a unique problem even to the folks over at Apple support who were unable to help with this issue.

you are only wasting OUR time when you don't read the first message in the thread clearly and thus repeat the obvious. if I seemed irritated in my response to yours, it's because I was. well, I troubleshot this even where Apple support could not. if my frustration from dealing with them carried over into a few of my sentences here with you and you took offense, I am sorry. hope you are having a peaceful weekend.

Maybe your old PowerMac G4 doesn't have an updated version of iTunes?

(p.s. be nicer...you'll get more help)

It was not my intention to be cruel.

I suppose I was just annoyed with Apple Support, as I've posted before. I spent hours trying to trouble shoot this with systems both up to date in OS and in iTunes (including iPod updates) but still came to the only conclusion that if I wanted to sync photos to my Nano, I had to do it on my iBook.

It is another frustration of mine, however, that other posters don't read carefully enough the original post and the problems therein.
