My father has a Sony Vaio, and uses Sony's Sonic Stage program to rip music to his computer. He is now looking to get a portable MP3 player, I am suggesting an iPod. Is there a way to convert his music from Sonic Stage to iTunes?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

How much music does he have? There may be a convertor of some kind available, but if not, is he able to burn CDs of the Sonic Stage music? He could then re-reip it into iTunes (with a modest loss in quality).

It is actually a lot of music, and some are of some mixed playlists he made of my CDs (he only wanted 1 song from a bunch of my music), so then he would have to type in all of the information as the CD Internet Database that iTunes uses would not know where they are form. We downloaded iTunes, but it would not let me drag the songs from the hard drive to iTunes, and if you selected import to iTunes, it would act like it is opening, but the song would never show up in the library.

do you know where I might search for this converter?
Thanks

I have no idea whether a convertor exists or not, but I guess you could try searching on google for something that can convert from the Sonic Stage format to MP3. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

This might be your problem.

You only use the 'Import' function if you're importing songs from a CD or DVD - not the hard-drive. If you want to add song files to iTunes, go under File > Add to Library and select the folders/files that way. If that doesn't work, then the files aren't in a format that iTunes can recognize.
