I bought a black fifth-generation 30GB iPod and I didn't buy a case since I saw one which blocked access to the click wheel quite a bit. I just thought "it's fine, I won't get any scratches." Turns out I was wrong about that.
I had a bunch of scratches on my screen, making my screen look very bad. So I followed some advice from other sites and used Brasso ("Brasso Plus").
I have buffed the iPod MANY times on the screen. While it looks a lot better than when I first started, there are still scratches and it doesn't look as perfect as other results I have seen.
I tried using a dremel, and that didn't work, so I went back to the "hand buffing."
I am afraid to keep doing it now, as when I touch the part that had most of the scratches, it feels different than the rest of the screen, which would mean that the Brasso is removing the acrylic stuff from that part of the screen.
So I have a few questions:
1. Can I restore the acrylic finish on the iPod? Would this work with Novus Acrylic polish? I saw someone recommending that but I have never seen it other than that place.
2. Do I have hope to removing more scratches on the iPod?
Thank you in advance, Lisa
