I have an interesting problem with my iPod, and can't seem to find an answer. Hope you guys can help.

A few weeks ago, I noticed that a song that I didn't place in a playlist appeared in an on the go playlist that I created. When I looked at the contents of the playlist, there was 8 or 9 copies of half the world away by Oasis. I cleared the contents of the playlist and the problem seemed to go away.

This morning it came back. This time with a playlist I generated about a week ago. The strangest thing is that the song that appeared was the same one as before.

Within these events, I've had problems where the iPod has reset itself while connected to my PC...when it did this, it behaved like you removed it without stopping or ejecting it. In other words, references to all songs were lost. All of my playlists were completely removed. The first time, I had to run chkdsk to repair some lost chains then rebuild the database of mp3's. The second time I only had to rebuild the list of mp3's.

Any ideas?

I think that I may need to completely reset it, but would like to avoid having to copy everything over again. (Afterall, this is a 5G...I've only had it 6 months. Kind of depressing that there would be so many problems considering the dell DJ I had before was completely problem free.)

Thanks!
