Exactly what it says. You got your iPod into disk mode (wherein it acts like a USB external disk drive), and whatever else you've been doing, it's now OK to disconnect.
If you just disconnect it and then turn it off (hold pause until it shuts down) when you turn it on again it should start up in normal, iPod mode.
