How long does it take to completely recharge a 5G 30gig iPod after completely exhausting the batteries? Does it charge any faster over USB 2.0 vs 1.1?
- Dual 1Ghz Quicksilver /w 1G RAM, GeForce4 Ti, 17" Studio Display, Soundsticks, 10.4.11
- iPhone 3G 16G Black
- 30Gig Video iPod

- MacBook Pro or iMac (soon hopefully)

2.0 would be faster, and the 5G iPods take about 3 hours to charge the first time.

I've actually been curious about this as well. Good to know, thanks! But here's some other battery questions:

-Do iPod's have charge memory? Say, if I don't charge it all the way then will it remember that charge and never charge fully again?

-Is it safe for my iPod if I use it while it's charging? Say, in the car with a charge adapter, it'd be so nice to have music and not worry about losing battery life.

The iPod will always charge until its full, so don't worry about it not charging. It is also safe to listen to your iPod while it is charging. If the iPod is low on battery life before you charge it while you are listening though it may take longer to charge. No problem.
