Isn't that dishonest? The retailer must have posted their testing method somewhere, and I'll bet it uses short songs in straight MP3 format with no EQ, low volume and NO backlight. On the other hand, you are probably playing lots of large songs in more complex encodings, with higher volume, complex equalization and use the backlight a lot to see what's playing.
The MacNN Forums cannot assist you in actively damaging your iPod so you can commit fraud. That's what you're asking people here to do. I do not care that you don't like BestBuy, I do not care that you think their policies are bad, and I do not care that you don't like the battery life of your iPod. Get over it-it's two generations out of date. You apparently haven't tried to find ways to improve your battery life-there are many-nor have you seen that there are things Apple has done about battery issues, or you wouldn't be posting this.
