Quick question. Is there any way to convert .mov files to the iPod format. I've used iSquint to convert all of my .mpeg's ands haven't had any problems. Used Handbrake to convert DVDs and that also went fine. I just can't seem to find a way to convert my .mov files. I did some research and couldn't really find any answers.
Also, I found this odd. I used both Quicktime and the built in iTunes feature to convert my .mpeg's to the iPod format and they took the normal conversion time, and the picture converted, but using both methods, the audio never came through and there was no sound. I used iSquint and it went perfectly. Any ideas why?
Thanks guys!

Have you tried just dragging your .mov files to iTunes? I dropped one of .mov files on iTunes and it was added to my iTunes video library and played perfectly fine in iTunes so I'd guess it would also be sync'd to the iPod w/o any problems.

I dragged my .mov files into iTunes and they play fine there, but they still need to be converted to an iPod compatible format to go onto the iPod. I go to Advanced>Convert Selection for iPod and it won't allow it to be converted. There has to be some way to convert these files.

That program is for PC. I'm on a PowerBook. Anyone have any tips on how to convert .mov files to an iPod compatible format?

The problem is partially that there is no such thing as a generic ".mov file" -- .mov files are in reality a sort of wrapper. The actual video and audio can be in a variety of formats/codecs and some of these don't convert easily. I'm not sure what to tell you about your particular files, except to try a variety of programs and see if they work. You might also try looking at the iLounge.com forums, since they are totally iPod-specific and have a lot of conversion-related topics there.
