Hello,

I'm considering purchasing an iPod Nano at either on an AF Base Exchange or at the actual Apple store at the mall. The Base Exchange has the 4GB iPod Nano for $248.00 with no tax. The Apple store has it for $249 but w/ tax -- the thing is, how much is my student discount at the Apple store if I were to purchase the Nano there?

Also, i'm in no real hurry to get a Nano, i'm using my Shuffle right now while working out, but an upgrade in the near future would be nice -- do you think I should wait out a little longer, I know the iPod is always changing, but should I wait and check my other options? August is almost here and the WWDC may or may not have any iPod announcments... any input?

Why ask us how much Nano's cost at the Apple education store. Check it out for yourself at http://store.apple.com

As for August, I wouldn't expect any new iPods at WWDC.

I'm in Colorado too and it is crazy. I moved here from Seattle a few months ago... reminds me of home.

Flagheimer, even with tax, the price of an iPod through the Apple Education Store is going to beat the BX price. Guaranteed. Those folks in Dallas that decide all the BX prices don't understand high-end consumer electronic products like computers and iPods. Just look at the crappy laptops they put on the shelves some time...

I do NOT buy any computer electronics from the BX/PX system if I can possibly avoid it-it just encourages them to put out stupid products at stupidly high prices (that far too many uninformed GIs will pay over and over again).

Buy slacks and socks at the BX. Buy iPods from Apple.

Yeah I was gonna buy an iPod with video from them but they wanted $325 for it! Even without an education discount, you're not saving very much money.
