The ad agency I work at has several ipods for a client of ours. We want to put one of their commercials on it, so they can watch it. I can convert the video, not a problem.

The problem is when the client first plugs it in, it will ask them to link it to thier itunes and erase the video on it. So how does one have a video on it they can watch, just like it came from the factory?

Couldn't you just restore an iPod to factory settings and then inspect its filesystem structure on a Mac while the iPod is in disk mode?

Ya you can. What about the client (user) though? They are going to be asked to link it to their itunes, erasing the video. They wont be tech savy enough to not link it and browse for the video.

I guess we will be able to deliver the ipod with the video on it to watch. After that, when they plug it in to their computers, its up to them what they want to do.

set the ipod to manual syncing.

That way, tracks and videos can be added and deleted at will, but only by hand.

Note that if your clients are going to be using Windows, the iPod MUST be Windows-formatted.
