I'm eager to get a new Nano, but all I have to "feed" it with is an elderly G4 Sawtooth....will the Nano dock work with USB 1.1?? Yeah, I know the specs say only 2.0, and that loading the beast would be painfully slow with 1.1....BUT, is it possible? I'm gonna have an new MacPro soon (October) and I don't load new music that often (mainly podcasts) and can be patient, in any case. but I DO want a new ipod (my current one is a 2G model) soon....has anyone tried this? connector problems??

Any help is appreciated.

regards,
david

works fine on my MDD via the Cinema Display's USB 1.0 port. Slow, but works.

Exactly, I have tested it with an even older Mac, Blue & White G3 and an iPod 5G (Video), no issues at all… then I got an USB2 PCI card to get if done faster.

Yes, sometimes the search function can be a pain… nevertheless, while I hate to say this I would advice you to do some search about reliable USB2 PCI card at the Power Mac forum, there are certain models that have some sleep-wake up issues.

Belkin PCI cards seem to work great.
