My ipod nano was working fine untill i got a new computer and all the problems have started....
My ipod nano shows a file with a "!" next to it. i tried everything on the apple website but still doesnt work. I have lost the IPod nano install disk but i installed it off the website. I plug it in and it just says Do NOT disconnect and has said that for ages now! I havent been able to restore it because u want to keep the music file on the ipod.

Go to the apple menu and select Software Update...

Go to the Update menu and select Reset Ignored Updates if it's not greyed out.

If there's an iPod related update available, get it.

Now go to your Utilities folder inside your Applications folder and open the iPod Software Updater folder.

Plug your iPod into your system.

Double click the most recent iPod updater.

and be sure that the nano is the only ipod connected to the computer or you have to disconect and start all over
