Hey everyone,

I have a 3rd gen ipod, and my girlfriend just bought a 5th gen. I was messing around with it, and noticed that if for a certain artist you don't have any albums, then it will go right from artist to song. (this is not a big problem, I still like how the 3rd gen does it though)

However, say you have 1 album listed, and then a few songs (with no album) all by the same artist, then when you click artist on the ipod, it goes right to the only album, and you can't access the "un-albumed" songs. I know this may sound a little confusing... but can anyone help me (and her) figure out how to fix this? Is the only option putting all the songs with albums? I put all the albumless songs under an album titled "Various", but there must be an easier way...

Thanks.

Have you tried updating the software or restoring it?

I'll update it, but it's brand new.. (it happened on my brother's 5th gen too.)
I might as well give it a shot.
Thanks.

Most of the time, like new Macs they don't come with the newest software updates.

This is basically a bug with the iPod software (well, not a bug exactly -- it's a feature that's supposed to save you time, but it has an undesirable consequence that the programmers apparently didn't foresee) I imagine it will be fixed eventually.
