I've heard nothing but good things about Apple's refurb computers, but I've never heard anything about iPods. I was thinking of buying the Video for 199 refurb (a friggin' steal!) but I don't know.
Any reponse would be greatly appreciated!!

I just bought a refurb iPod Shuffle and couldn't be happier. It works and looks just like a new one, plus has the same warranty.

I was a bit scared of this ad. $199 seems great.

I have purchased 5 refurb iPods over the last 2 years. Unless you want the graphics on your iPod box you won't be disappointed. All five have looked brand new and I haven't had a problem out of any of them.

Do the refurb iPods come automatically with Applecare, or do you have to order it? And do they come with an iPod box?

Apple Care is not included as you can from the option to add it. They seem to come in different boxes, as you tell from the post above yours

The Refurb iPod is by all means a new iPod. The only difference is that it had defective components/it was used and returned for some reason. Apple can't legally sell the product as new, so they sell it as refurbed. All the components are in perfect functional condition. It is in most every sense buying a new iPod...

Just received (hour ago) my refurbed 30GB Video. $199..I could not go wrong.
Looks like it has never touched anyone's hands.
I have not hooked up yet, but I am sure all is well!

You get the regular 1 year warranty just like you would get when buying new. The box is just a brown box and it says something like Apple Re-certified. Other than that they look brand new and the included accessories are brand new.
To me buying a refurb is the only way to go. I have purchased both iPods and Macs and have been very pleased.

Just a follow up on mine, it works perfectly, just as I expected.
Quickly put some movies and music on it, now I have to figure out what to do with the other 20 gigs of space.. lol..

I just ordered a iPod nano (black) 4 Gb, $169.
Also the Nike kit+ dock.
I run 4-6 times at week. It is about time for me to keep track of my workouts
I know the 30 GB iPod right now is a steal, but the smll factor + the nike kit got me onbord the nano.

Hey guys. Thanks for all of the response. Someone gave me a 4G 20GB iPod yesterday!! There was some sand that stopped it from working, but I blew it all out and it works great! Thanks to all who responded. And you should probably keep the thread open for other potential askers!!
Thanks,
Will
