Hi all.
My iPod Photo is acting very strangely, here's why:
1--The specs: 8.4 GB remaining / 8,240 songs (Split between Songs and Podcasts) / 893 photos (NO full-sized photos)
2--The iPod has been restored with the 1.2.1 update
Here's the problem: Even after the Photo/Song/Podcast restore,
a--the About screen says 893 Photos yet when I go into the Photos subsection, the right amount of thumnails display *but* they're all empty.
b--during playback, I will, on random occasion, be unable to turn off the iPod by holding the Play/Pause button. Yes, even after flipping the on/off switch about four or five times, holding the Play/Pause button for a couple of seconds does not turn the iPod off. My only option is to Reset the iPod by holding the MENU button till the Apple screen appears. After that, the iPod shuts off correctly when I hold the Play/Pause button.
Is my iPod senile or can it be repaired? Is there a way I can fix this without sending it to the hospital?

I am having problems with my 40GB Photo. It crashes in sleep far too often, so that it appears to be dead. So I can empathize.

Try running DiskWarrior on it. I know it sounds odd but I've revived many a seemingly dead iPod by rebuilding a badly messed up file directory.

Okay, before I do that though, how do I set the iPod in the proper mode so it mounts on the desktop for the DW repair?

Does it mount as normal? If so, and you can see it in Disk Utility, DiskWarrior will see it too, no problem.

Yeah, it mounts. But, doesn't the iTunes setting of "Enable Disk Use" have something to do with that?
**PLEASE HELP** I am very confused here. I attempted to use Apple's Disk Utility and even after it *seemilgly* fixed the drive, I an STILL seeing only empty thumbnail in the iPod's library of photos.
