my ipod's screen appears dead until it goes into its sleep/power save mode. then it looks like this:
i've tried restoring and resetting. i've tried taking it all apart and putting it all back together again (with the help of
these directions). and when i have it on without the back attached, i can squeeze it and see the screen (the messed-up patchwork stuff) flicker on and off. there may well be a loose connection, but does it fix itself every time the ipod goes back to its "charging" screen?
once, as i played with the ipod's innards, i actually got the screen to look normal again. but just once. (i was trying to make it even better, because "normal" for me has included a narrow vertical line of dead pixels for a while, and i thought "now that i have my torx screwdriver and can go underneath the motherboard, shouldn't i be able to fix that too?")
siiiiiiigh.
do you guys have any ideas...? should i send it to one of those online mac/ipod repair companies? is there a way i can fix this myself?
......?
i'd really appreciate any help as i really miss my ipod!
